Description
Southdown Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1830-1840, featuring a stucco exterior. The building has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with paired brackets at the oversailing eaves. It stands two storeys high and has three bays on the east elevation. The windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars and hood moulds. There is a central porch supported by corner pilasters, which has a cornice and includes a side door and window at the front and side, both with hood moulds. The south elevation has a long, widely spaced three-window arrangement. The farmhouse also has rendered chimney stacks. Adjoining the northeast is a tall slate rubble wall that serves as a screen to the rear yard, featuring a segmentally arched carriageway with a high parapet above.
