Description

This is a house, originally a single dwelling, later subdivided, dating from the 18th century or earlier, with subsequent alterations. The construction is of solid walls, likely including cob, and rendered; the left return is covered in slate. The main block has a pantile roof, while the left-hand block has a slate roof. The chimney stacks are a mixture of rendered and brick, with one stack marking the junction between the two blocks and a later stack at the right end. The plan consists of two staggered blocks on a shared axis; the left-hand block is smaller and projects slightly forward. The right-hand block has a cross-passage layout. The front elevation is asymmetrical, featuring a 1:3-window arrangement with small-pane timber casement windows of 2 and 3 lights. A recessed plank front door is located to the right of centre of the right-hand block, while the left-hand block has a doorway to the left and a single ground-floor and first-floor window to the right. A partial inspection of the right-hand block revealed a plain interior, although it may contain earlier features. The roof space was not inspected.
