Description

The Town Hall, located at 68 Fore Street, is a building from 1850 that stands two storeys high. It is constructed of stone with a painted finish, featuring a floor band and rusticated quoins. The eaves cornice creates an obtuse-angled pediment. Notable architectural elements include a canted bay on the first floor with rounded sides and three arched entrances, each fitted with six-panel doors and fanlights. A clock turret was added to the building in 1875. The Town Hall is part of a group that includes Nos 42 to 84 (even), No 92, and The Shambles.
