Description

The Church of St Edmund, located on the west side of Fore Street, dates back to 1276. It was rebuilt and dedicated in 1414, with the base of the central tower being from an earlier period. The church underwent restoration and extension in 1849 and again in 1896. Notable architectural features include an octagonal stone spire and the Flaxman monument.
