Description

This listing describes a pair of gate-piers located immediately northwest of Higher Allerton. They date from the 18th century or early 19th century and are constructed from dressed and coursed local limestone. Each pier is square in plan and features plain limestone flat caps. On the inner face of each pier, there is an integral gate stop. The gate itself is from the 20th century.
