Description
This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of three buildings, located on Leechwell Street. Originally built after 1834, the terrace originally served as stable and coach house buildings for Sam Heard’s horse-drawn transport service to Paignton. The terrace is two storeys high with two windows each. It has Welsh slate roofs and plastered frontages. Numbers 5 and 6 feature boxed-out eaves cornices and plain bands on the first floor. The windows are recessed sash windows. Numbers 5 and 6 have recessed doorways with fanlights and panelled doors. Number 7 has a doorway with elongated console brackets supporting a cornice, and a more modern door. The buildings are listed due to their historical significance and their contribution to the surrounding streetscape.
