Description

This barn, located 30 meters south of Shute Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features slate rubble walls and a hipped slate roof, with a rectangular plan that includes a central threshing floor. The barn is single storey with a loft. The front wall has a central cart entrance flanked by an inserted window on either side and a narrower door at the left-hand end. Below the eaves, there is a row of pigeon holes. The left-hand end wall includes a loft window situated below the eaves. The rear elevation has a narrow opposing doorway leading to the threshing floor.
