Description
The gate piers located approximately 1300 meters northwest of Boringdon Hall date from the late 17th century and were built for the Parkers of Boringdon. They are made of rusticated granite ashlar and feature plinths, moulded cornices, and moulded caps topped with large ball finials. Each pier has a half-domed niche on the front and a keyring for proposed or former screen walls on either side. These piers are similar to others found near Boringdon Hall and to those at Saltram House in Plymouth, which originated from Boringdon.
