Description

This is a pair of chest tombs located approximately 6 meters north of the porch of St. Winwaloe Church in East Portlemouth. They date from the later 18th century and feature squared and coursed rubble sides with a coved cornice and a slate lid. The corners of the tombs have projecting rubble pilasters. Only the tomb nearest to the church has a legible inscription, which commemorates Samuel Cornish, who died in 1772, and Catherine Cornish, who died in 1773.
