Description
Butterwell and trough, located approximately 30 metres southeast of Creber Farmhouse, date from the early to mid 19th century. Constructed from slate stone rubble, it is built into a field boundary bank where a spring flows. The structure features a rectangular opening with slate rubble jambs and a slate lintel roof that has slate shelves. Below the door, a slate outflow spout drains into a large granite trough positioned in front of the butterwell.
