Description
Stone Hills is a small farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with a mid-19th century extension. The structure is made of slate rubble with a slate-hung front and has an asbestos slate roof featuring both gabled and hipped ends. There are rendered end chimney stacks. The farmhouse has a double-depth plan, consisting of two front rooms, a central entrance, and small service rooms at the rear. The mid-19th century addition at the higher right-hand south end has a one-room plan. The original internal partitions of the two-room plan at the front have been removed.
The building is two storeys tall and features a front with a two plus one window range. The early 19th century windows are 12-pane sashes. The central entrance has an early 19th century flush-panel door topped with a slate canopy supported by shaped brackets. The right-hand extension includes a first-floor two-light casement with glazing bars and a 20th-century casement and porch on the ground floor. The interior was not accessible during the survey in 1986.
