Description
Leigh Bridge, also known as Lee Bridge, is a road bridge over the Harbourne River, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed of slate rubble and features two round arches with dressed slate arch rings. There are probably later cutwaters against the central pier on the upstream side. The bridge has long abutments that form a causeway on the northeast side. The original parapets are adorned with vertical slate lacing. It is believed to have been built before 1809, when James Green, the County surveyor, mentioned a two-arch bridge in his records.
