Description
The granary and barn located immediately southwest of Foales Leigh is a structure likely converted from an earlier farm building, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of slate rubble. The granary features a slate gable-ended roof, while the barn has a corrugated iron roof with gabled ends. The building has a large rectangular plan, with the granary situated over a cart shed at the higher west end and an adjoining, lower, single-storey barn at the east end. The exterior of the granary includes external stone stairs leading to a first-floor plank door, as well as a cart entrance with a timber lintel and a lean-to on the right. The barn has a wide cart entrance at the front and a hipped roof lean-to addition at the lower east end. The interior has not been inspected. This structure is located on the south side of the farmyard at Foales Leigh.
