Description
This is a two-storey building on High Street, likely dating from the late 16th or early 17th century, with alterations and a refronting in the early 19th century. It has a Welsh slate roof and a stone ridge stack that has been raised with red brick. A section of the original masonry party wall remains, showing a corbel from a former jettied second floor at the western end. The early 19th-century work includes a timber-framed front with a stucco finish and a coved eaves cornice. There are flush-framed sash windows with architraves and glazing bars, along with timber bands marking the second floor. The shopfront is also from the early 19th century, featuring pilasters supporting an entablature (the cornice has been replaced with a slate band) and shop windows with small panes and glazing bars. The recessed, central doorway has a fanlight and a panelled door. A more modern window has been added to the east end.
