Description
Ruggaton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, though it may conceal earlier fabric. The building is constructed of stone rubble with a slate-hung facade and features slate roofs. The left side has a higher ridge level and gable end stacks, while the right end is half-hipped. The overall plan is unclear as the interior is not accessible, but it appears to consist of a 3-bay range with a higher roof on the left, likely containing two principal ground floor rooms to the left of the entrance hall. The lower range on the right includes an additional service room and a workshop, which was originally heated, although the stack at the right end has been demolished. The farmhouse has two storeys, with the main range featuring all 16-paned sash windows. There is a stone rubble porch at the right end with a gabled slate roof. The lower range to the right has a 2-light casement with 8 panes per light, situated above a 16-paned sash window to the left of a wide entrance to the workshop. A lean-to is present at the left end of the main range. The interior remains inaccessible.
