Description
This pair of gravestones marks the head and foot of the Parminter grave, located 5 metres south of the south-west corner of the nave of the Church of St Peter. They were created in 1847 and are made of slate. The headstone features a straight shape with scalloped decoration at the corners. It commemorates Henry Parminter, who died in 1847, and Susannah Parminter, who passed away in 1852. The stone at the foot of the grave includes a poignant verse that expresses a farewell to his wife and children, urging them to love and support each other and to care for their mother in her declining years. It also includes a verse from the Book of Job, Chapter 19, verse 26.
