Description
The stables with a loft over, located approximately 25 meters north-north-west of Buckland Manor House, likely date from the 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble, with the upper half made of cob. It features a half-hipped roof that is partly covered with corrugated iron and partly with asbestos. At the rear, there is a lean-to roof made of pantiles covering the cob and rubble outshut. The front of the stables has three door openings, each with a single ventilation slit above. The upper end includes a large pitching doorway that retains its original timber lintel and plank door. The roof structure is complete, consisting of four trusses with straight principals, pegged collars, and two tiers of purlins that are all intact.
