Description

The Old Church House is probably a 16th-century building, although it may incorporate earlier fabric. It has been refenestrated, reroofed, and had its interior altered in the 20th century. The exterior is of colourwashed rendered rubble, with a scantling slate roof to the front and asbestos slates to the rear. There are rubble stacks with slate drips at each gable end. Originally, it likely had a three-cell cross-passage plan. The building is two storeys high with a four-window front, featuring 20th-century 2-light casements. On the ground floor, two 2-light casements flank two doorways. The doorway to the left has a chamfered surround and a false 4-centred headed door with herringbone planking. A 20th-century door is situated to the right. Inside, the fireplace has stone jambs and a timber lintel, and there are roughly chamfered beams. The roof was not inspected. The church house is situated within the churchyard walls.
