Description
The Old Church House is a former church house that has been converted into a private dwelling. It likely dates from the 16th century but may incorporate some earlier materials. The building underwent changes in the 20th century, including new windows, a new roof, and alterations to the interior. It features colourwashed rendered rubble with a scantling slate roof at the front and asbestos slates at the rear. There are rubble stacks with slate drips at each gable end. The original layout was probably a three-cell cross-passage plan. The house is two stories tall and has a four-window range of 20th-century two-light casements. On the ground floor, there are two two-light casements flanking two doorways; the left doorway has a chamfered surround and a false four-centred headed door with herringbone planking, while the right doorway has a 20th-century door. Inside, there are stone jambs to the fireplace with a timber lintel and roughly chamfered beams. The roof has not been inspected. The Old Church House is located within the walls of the churchyard.
