Shippon Approximately 15 Metres To North West Of West Molland Barton At Ss 7929 2851

This building is a shippon located approximately 15 metres to the north-west of West Molland Barton, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations likely made in the early 20th century. It is constructed from roughly squared and coursed stone, with 20th-century cement render on the northern side. The roof is gable-ended and covered with asbestos slate. The shippon has a long rectangular plan, aligned approximately east-west, and faces a farmyard to the north. It is one storey high with a loft.

The exterior features a central loft opening with two boarded doors, four ground-floor 20th-century metal casements, and two boarded stable-type doors. The southern side of the building is a blank wall. This shippon is part of a group of farm buildings located across the lane from West Molland Barton and, despite its alterations, remains an important component of the farmstead.
