Description

The Burden tomb chest, located approximately 4 metres west of the west end of the west tower of the Church of St Peter, is an early 19th-century structure. It features a brick plinth topped with a slate slab. The corners of the tomb chest are adorned with incised urns. The inscription commemorates George Burden, a yeoman from Horwood, who died in 1812, along with his son who died in 1787, his wife who died in 1814, and his grandson who died in 1816.
