Description

Langabridge is a farmhouse, likely dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of painted rendered cob with a corrugated asbestos roof that covers a largely intact thatched roof. The house has gable end stacks built of stone rubble with brick shafts. The original layout is a long, two-room plan with a wide central passage containing a straight-run staircase. There was originally a parlour to the left and a kitchen at the lower end (right). The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front. Most of the windows are 20th-century 2-light casements, although a late 19th-century 2-light casement with four panes per light is located centrally on the first floor. A 20th-century lean-to porch is centrally positioned. Inside, there is a chamfered fireplace lintel and a single crossbeam with diagonally cut stops. The majority of the 19th-century joinery remains.
