Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of St Peter's Terrace in Barnstaple. The house is built of solid, rendered walls, likely brick beneath, with decorative trefoils cut into the render. It has a slate roof with decorative red ridge tiles, and a red brick chimney against the right gable, likely dating to the late 19th century.

The house is three storeys high and features a two-window front. The ground floor has a doorway with a late 20th-century door on the left and a canted bay window on the right, fitted with six-paned sashes in the central window and two-paned sashes to the sides. The second-floor windows have flat-headed surrounds, while the third-floor windows are segmental-headed. All windows have six-paned sashes, which are later replacements or additions with horns. An iron guard rail, decorated with lilies and anthemions, runs along the second floor. A bracketed eaves cornice tops the building. The interior has not been inspected.

The terrace occupies a prominent location on the edge of the churchyard, directly opposite St Anne’s Chapel.
