Description

This is a cottage, possibly part of a former farmhouse, dating from the 16th century. It is constructed of whitewashed rendered rubble and cob, with a thatched roof to the front and a corrugated asbestos roof to a rear extension. A lateral rubble stack, capped with taper and heightened in brick, is also present. The cottage may represent the surviving hall and through-passage section of a three-cell through-passage plan, with the upper and lower ends having been rebuilt as separate dwellings. The cottage is two storeys high and features two two-paned sash windows over two panes on the front, with a larger, similar sash window to the left of a panelled door.
