Description
Shell House is located approximately 175 metres east of Tapeley Park House and is likely from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with brick dressings and features a monopitch slate roof. The building has a circular shape with a straight rear wall. There are two pointed arched doorways with brick arches, which flank two diamond-shaped windows that also have brick surrounds. Inside, the walls are lined with calcified limestone and shells, and the ceiling showcases stalactite features tipped with conches. The floor is patterned with pitched stone, and there are benches around the sides.
