Description
Little Frenchstone Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or earlier, with a likely late 19th century wing. The building is whitewashed and rendered, featuring a roof that is partly slated and partly covered with corrugated asbestos, which probably replaced thatch. The farmhouse has a lateral stack at the rear of the main range and another lateral stack for the wing.
The layout is in an L shape, with the main range likely being single depth and the 19th century crosswing located at the left end. The right end of the main range appears to be used for storage. The exterior has two storeys and an asymmetrical front with four windows. The main entrance is a 19th century plank door with a cover strip, and there is a second entrance with a porch to the left. The windows are timber casements, dating from the 19th or 20th century.
The interior was not inspected, but it may hold interest. The description and dating are approximate due to lack of access during the survey in 1987.
