Description

This house, divided into flats, was built around the 1790s. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick, with the right end rendered; it has a slate roof with gabled ends and a brick stack projecting through the roof to the rear right. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present. The building consists of a double-depth main range, two rooms wide, with a central entrance and a rear right wing set at a right angle, creating a general L-shaped plan.

The front is symmetrical with three bays and deep eaves. All windows are hornless sash windows with rubbed brick arches. The two outer second-floor windows have been made smaller. The central doorway has a reeded pilastered doorcase with a fluted frieze decorated with planted flower motifs. The doorcase has fielded panelled reveals, housing a six-panel door with fielded upper panels and a plain overlight. The ground-floor windows are tripartite, with 12 panes in the centre and 4 panes in the outer lights. There are three 20th-century windows on the right return of the main range, one on each floor. The first floor has three 16-pane sashes, and the second floor has three 3-over-6-pane sashes. The two-storey wing has a separate entrance on its right return and contains 16-pane sashes. The interior remains uninspected, but may contain features of interest.
