Description
The former stable block, located 5.5 metres north of Oburneford Farmhouse, is now used as a general storage area. It was built in the early 19th century and features cob construction with a stone plinth, plastered exterior, and a gabled-end slate roof. Originally designed as a single range, it has been modified to a double-depth layout due to the addition of a late 19th-century brick and stone barn at the rear.
The building has five first-floor openings, all topped with 4-centred headed arches and Y-tracery. One of these openings is completely blocked, two have internal shutters, one features 12 leaded panes per light, and the fifth is a square-headed hay-loft opening with a fanlight above, which also has a 4-centred head and Y-tracery. On the ground floor, there are three similar windows, all with internal shutters, along with two square-headed doorways.
