Description

This linhay, located approximately 4 meters west of Town Barton, is likely from the 17th century. It is constructed of cob on rubble footings and features a wheat reed thatched roof. Originally, it was an open-fronted six-bay Alcock Type T1 linhay facing south, away from the road. The original hayloft floor has been lowered, and the ground floor is now weatherboarded. The roof is hipped at both ends and has an A-frame structure with pegged lap-jointed collars. At the rear of the right (east) end, a high cob wall extends to connect with Town Barton house.
