Description
Woodhayne Farmhouse is a large farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It features plastered walls, likely made of stone rubble, and has stone rubble or brick stacks with 19th-century brick chimney shafts. The roof is slate. The building has a double-depth plan, facing south, with a front and rear room on either side of a central entrance hall and stairs, and stacks located in the end walls. It is two storeys high.
The exterior is symmetrical with a three-window front, showcasing tall 12-pane sash windows. The central front doorway has a part-glazed four-panel door with an overlight, set behind a plain flat-roofed porch supported by circular-section posts, which is a replacement of the original. The eaves are plain, and the roof is hipped at both ends. The windows throughout the house are similar 12-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected, but it is suspected to contain early 19th-century joinery and other details.
