Description

This is a socket stone for a churchyard cross, located approximately 18 metres south of the aisle of the Church of St Peter. It is likely from the 15th century and made of granite. The large granite socket stone has a square base, with the top corners chamfered and featuring broad broach stops. The top of the stone contains a square-shaped socket for the now missing cross.
