Description

This is a small house, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, situated in Dean Street, Crediton. The exterior is rendered cob construction with stone rubble footings, and has a slate roof that is hipped to the left, topped with a stack featuring a rendered shaft. The house follows a small, single-depth plan, with a front door located to the left of the facade and the main room heated by a rear lateral stack. The front is asymmetrical, featuring a single window. A half-glazed door from the 19th or early 20th century is positioned on the ground floor to the left. There is a three-light timber casement window with glazing bars on each floor. The interior has not been inspected. As part of a row including numbers 19 and 21, the house contributes to a good example of unspoiled urban cob cottages.
