Description
The stables and linhay located approximately 6 metres south-east of West Raddon Farmhouse date from the mid to late 19th century. They are constructed from plastered cob on rubble footings, with machine-sawn pine and a slate roof. The building features two stables with a hayloft above on the left and a 14-bay linhay on the right, all covered by a continuous roof that is hipped at both ends. The stables have three unglazed windows with stable doors between them, along with two loading bays for the first-floor haylofts. The linhay is open-fronted on both the ground and first floors. It has a post and beam structure that is tied into the rear cob wall and features an estate-type king post roof. Historical maps from the 19th century indicate that this building is situated on the north side of a three-sided farmyard complex.
