Description
Greenslades Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on rubble footings, with a cob stack topped with brick and a wheat reed thatched roof. The cottage has two rooms and faces south, featuring a large cob stack that projects from the right (east) gable end, which is surrounded by a single-storey lean-to made of rubble walls and a slate roof.
The building is two storeys high and has a balanced front with two windows. The windows are a mix of 19th and 20th-century casements, with three lights on the right and two on the left, each having six panes per light, except for the left-hand first-floor window, which has 20th-century single-pane casements. There is a central door located behind a late 19th-century timber porch that has panelled and glazed sides with glazing bars and shaped bargeboards; the porch roof was thatched in October 1984. The roof of the cottage is hipped to the left, and the interior features plain carpentry details.
