Description

Barehill Farmhouse is probably of 18th-century origin, with a cottage added in the 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of plastered cob, rubble, and brick, with brick and rubble stacks and a thatched roof. It comprises a single block facing south-east, featuring end stacks and an axial stack to the north-east of the central room. The front has an irregular five-window arrangement of 20th-century casements, with only one window on the first floor retaining glazing bars. Doors are located towards the right and left. The interior features plain carpentry details. Exposed brickwork at the right end suggests that this section was either added or rebuilt in the late 19th century onto an earlier, smaller farmhouse. The property is included on the list for its group value.
