Description
Lime Kiln Cottage is a small house that has been converted into a café and residence. It likely dates from the 17th century and features rendered cob walls with rubble extensions. The roof is thatched with wheat-reed and includes stork finials, with additional thatch on the extensions to the right of the house. The lean-to roof on the left side is covered with clay pantiles, and there is a brick chimney over the rear lateral stack. The building has a small two-room plan along with extensions.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range with old casement windows that have external louvered shutters. The rear of the building has an irregular two-window range with small window openings, except for a larger window on the first floor to the left, and there is an oven projection to the left of the chimney breast.
Inside, the original beam and joist floor structure has been replaced. The hall features a fireplace faced with stone, and while the roof structure has not been inspected, it is likely to be original.
