Description
This is an early to mid-19th century house located on Barrington Street, Tiverton. It is a double-fronted building, likely only one room deep, and occupies a prominent position in the street.
The exterior is of painted brick, with a ground storey of red brick and roughcast above. It has a tarred slated roof, and two chimneys are visible on the rear slope, the one on the right being of red brick. There are two windows on each floor, with a doorway in the centre. The six-panelled front door has two flush lower panels and is flanked by pilasters supporting an entablature with a cornice projecting on shaped brackets. A cast-iron shoe-scraper is set into the wall on the left side. The windows have slightly curved gauged arches and six-paned sashes. A doorway to the left has a round arch and a plank door. A moulded board runs below the eaves. A side passage is located to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
