Description
Grasshopper Lodge is a house, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of plastered cob or rubble, with rubble stacks topped by 19th-century brick chimney shafts and a thatched roof. The house features a three-room plan and faces southeast, with an end stack on the left side, which is in the party wall with Beggars Roost, and an axial stack positioned to the right of center.
The building is two stories tall and has an irregular four-window front, showcasing late 19th-century and 20th-century casements with glazing bars. It includes a 20th-century canted bay window at the left end, which lacks glazing bars. The entrance features a 19th-century four-panel door with an overlight and a flat hood supported by plain brackets. The roof extends continuously with Beggars Roost on the left and is hipped on the right side. The right end of the house has a 19th-century triangular-headed half-dormer window with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
