Description

This is an early 19th-century stone building, although it may be of earlier origin. It is a three-storey block with three windows facing Bartholomew Street West and four windows on the side. The front features later stone mullioned windows, while the side elevation has early 19th-century Gothic windows, some with lead glazing bars. A pointed arch doorway is present. The roof is slate, and the building has a parapet along the front. Local tradition suggests it may have originally formed part of a gatehouse to St Nicholas' Priory, although its appearance suggests it could also be an early industrial building. It is part of a group of listed buildings along Bartholomew Street West.
