Description

Nos 70 and 70A on Fore Street in Topsham are a Grade II listed building dating back to 1791, although they have been extensively altered. Originally built as a market house, the structure features a seven-arched arcade, of which five arches remain. The building is constructed of brick and topped with slate roofs. No 70 is a two-storey building with three bays and sash windows that include glazing bars. No 70A consists of two bays and has a modern garage front inserted into the arches. To the right, there are two additional single-storey bays. The arches are detailed with impost blocks and keystones. On the Exe Street side of No 70, there is a stone sink and a pump. All the listed buildings on Fore Street are part of a group.
