It is a three-storey structure with a three-window front of red brick, accompanied by two-storey, one-window wings on either side. The building has wide eaves supported by brackets. The central section of the front features a Roman Doric portico, with the central bay projecting and topped by a pediment. Beneath the portico are round-headed windows, and a doorway featuring quoins and voussoirs, leading to a six-panel door. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The building forms a group with numbers 15 to 28, numbers 30 to 36, numbers 38 to 40, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, numbers 45 and 46, and number 52.
