Description

Pennsylvania Crescent comprises five detached stucco houses dating from circa 1820, forming a shallow crescent arrangement. The central house is two storeys high with a three-window front and a round attic window set within a pediment, incorporating a half basement below. It features pilastered facades. The remaining four houses are two-window designs, also with two storeys and a half basement, and have hipped roofs with wide eaves and quoin pilasters ornamented with wreaths. Two distinct styles of iron trellis verandahs with canopies are present. Some side porches are supported by fluted Tuscan columns, while others have coupled supports and peaked canopies. Number 5 has a two-storey bow at its end. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and the roofs are covered in slate. Numbers 1 to 5 form a cohesive group, demonstrating interesting early villa layout and design.
