Description
GODWORTHY FARMHOUSE is a farmhouse dating from around the 16th century, constructed of stone rubble with some areas rendered. It features a new concrete tile roof with gabled ends and has an L-shaped plan due to a wing on the north-west side. The west end of the main range appears to have been completely rebuilt. The building is two storeys tall and has a long range with modern casement windows, along with a small two-light ovolo moulded window on the north side. The farmhouse has rebuilt brick ridge chimney stacks and a four-centred arch doorway leading to a cross passage, which includes a plank door on the north side.
Inside, the farmhouse showcases jointed cruck trusses, two plank and muntin screens—one in the cross passage and the other at the higher end—cambered arch doorways, a wide open fireplace, and a moulded timber ceiling.
