Description

Holyford Farmhouse is a house dating to around the 16th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with some areas rendered and whitewashed. The steeply pitched tiled roof has gabled ends. The front facade has four window bays. The windows are casements, with two, three, and four lights, some featuring ovolo-moulded mullions and leaded panes, and some with hood moulds. A stone chimney stack is on the front wall, and the original doorway has been altered with a modern timber porch. A wing adjoins the south side of the house; this section has colour-washed stone rubble walls and a thatched roof with a half-hipped end. It has two casement windows and a loft door.
