Description
Whitwell Farmhouse is a small house dating from the 17th century, with a wing from the 18th century that creates an L-shaped plan. The building is constructed of white-washed stone rubble and features a steeply pitched tiled roof with gabled ends. It has two storeys and a three-window range, consisting of small 19th-century and modern casements with glazing bars, along with a central plank door. There is a rebuilt brick ridge stack located at the center of the house. The long wing, which projects from the right side of the front, is from the 18th century and has one storey and an attic, featuring gabled dormers and mostly modern casement windows. Inside the 17th-century section, there is a fireplace with stone jambs that have stop-chamfers and a chamfered cambered lintel.
