Description

Pynes Cross, located 300 yards east of Pynes, is a wayside cross dating from the late medieval period. It stands on its original quatrefoil socket stone, with a square and chamfered shaft that reaches nearly 6 feet in height. Although the cross arms are missing, the structure remains almost intact. This cross is situated by the old path that connected Brampford Speke to Cowley, which was once a detached part of the Brampford Speke parish.
