Description
Mountfield is a small mansion dating from the early 19th century, set in a garden. It has a roughcast exterior with stuccoed dressings and a slate roof behind a parapet. The building features rusticated quoins and bands and is two storeys high. It has three main bays and a lower one-bay wing that is slightly set back. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set within plain stuccoed architraves. On the left and right, there are two-storey segmental bays with bowed tripartite sashes, also with glazing bars. The central porch has wider corner pilasters and a semi-circular arch with a traceried fanlight. The inner door features a traceried fanlight and panelled reveals. In front of the mansion, there is a terrace with a cast iron balustrade and a flight of four steps leading to the entrance at the centre.
