Description
Clifton Cottage is a detached, thatched house located on Clifton Place, dating back to 1633. The building features a combination of two-storey and single-storey sections, with part of the roof forming a verandah on the south side. The south front has three windows, with the central window being a full-length sash that includes marginal glazing. The verandah is supported by trellis. On the west front, there are five thatched gables at different heights. This side includes one French window with marginal glazing and a semi-circular head featuring swagged radial glazing, another French window, and three casement windows, all with marginal glazing. The house has likely undergone alterations and additions over time, but it serves as a prominent terminal feature to Clifton Place. All the listed buildings in Clifton Place are part of a group.
