Description

Moxhayes Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed of plastered stone rubble. It has a thatched roof with gabled ends. The original front features three windows, now fitted with modern three-light casements containing glazing bars. A modern central door is sheltered by a modern thatched porch. A stone ashlar chimney stack at the west gable end is dated 1683, while the east gable end has a rebuilt brick stack. A small lean-to addition is located on the left-hand side of the front, and there is an outshut at the rear. Inside, a first-floor room features painted text, Psalm 5:3, and a circa 17th-century moulded plaster frieze. The other two first-floor rooms have narrow moulded plaster cornices.
