Description
St Pancras, formerly the Church of St Pancras, is a Grade II* listed building located in the Rousdon Estate, built around 1870 by architects Sir Ernest George and T. Vaughan. This Gothic-style church was constructed of stone rubble with freestone dressings and has tile roofs. The structure features a nave and chancel combined, a squat west tower topped with a pyramidal roof, angle buttresses, and an octagonal stair turret at the northeast corner with a bellcote. It includes north and south transepts and a north porch, which has a three-bay arcade that contains a family vault behind a wrought iron screen, situated between the north transept and the stair turret. The windows are adorned with plate tracery, and a lantern was added over the crossing in 1893. The interior has been stripped of furnishings, and a floor has been inserted. The building has been repurposed from a church to a film studio for a school and is now a dwelling.
